Anthony is century hero

A CENTURY from Will Anthony led CRAZIES HILL to victory against HOLYPORT last Sunday.

A CENTURY from Will Anthony led CRAZIES HILL to victory against HOLYPORT last Sunday.

Having lost the toss and being put into field, Crazies Hill got off to a steady start, thanks to Will Scholfield, who had Saunders caught by his father. Pajwani and Baillie added 28, before Scholfield bowled Pajwani to leave Holyport 62-2.

Sennett joined Baillie and immediately took the attack to Crazies Hill. Holyport added 84 in eight overs until Sennett hit his wicket having scored 52. When Hanton removed Taylor and Anthony bowled Griffiths, Crazies Hill had fought back, with Holyport now 168-5.

A 55 knock from Baillie and 32 from Dunn saw Holyport add 54 for the sixth wicket before both were out in quick succession. Thompson and Cox saw Holyport set a challenging target of 240.

Crazies Hill’s innings got off to an ignominious start as Holyport removed both Parker and Brian Scholfield cheaply to leave them 24-2 in the seventh over.

Montgomery and Will Scholfield began a fightback, adding 43 in six overs, before Scholfield mistimed a pull straight to mid-on. When Montgomery pulled a short delivery from Morgan straight to Baillie, Crazies were 81-4 with the result still in the balance.

Anthony joined Stuart and immediately showed his intent, hoisting his fourth ball for six. Having set out his stall to play aggressively, he and Stuart took the attack to Holyport. As Anthony began to hit boundaries more frequently, Stuart took on the anchor roll and the pair added 160 together to lead Crazies to a comfortable victory with six overs to spare with Anthony finishing 119 not out.
