Captain leads the way in derby win

NETTLEBED captain Lee Vockins impressed with the bat and ball as his side ran out winners in their home match

NETTLEBED captain Lee Vockins impressed with the bat and ball as his side ran out winners in their home match with WOODCOTE last Sunday.

Woodcote looked in a strong position when they posted a score of more than 200 in their 35 overs, with Simon Fuller and James Worsfold both scoring half centuries.

Vockins was Nettlebed’s most successful bowler with 4-17.

A century partnership between skipper Vockins, and M Butler kept the home side in the hunt, but Woodcote still looked favourites to win until some hard-hitting late on gave Nettlebed the win in the last over. Woodcote’s skipper Jonny Aldridge took 4-47.
