Play-off spot for Hurley

HURLEY U11s wrapped up the league championship and secured a place in the end-of-season play-offs with the demolition of DATCHET

HURLEY U11s wrapped up the league championship and secured a place in the end-of-season play-offs with the demolition of DATCHET U11s by 10 wickets.

Having been sent into the field Datchet were never able to get going on an artificial pitch. Ollie Dawkins made the early breakthrough before Jack Hill to a wicket to leave Datchet on 0-2.

James Calliss took the third wicket with Dawkins taking the catch at short mid-wicket. Calliss then accounted for a succession of Datchet players, including a good catch from Charlie Peplow in the covers, and smart handiwork by Blake Dyson behind the stumps.

James picked up 5-8 off his three overs ably supported by Dawkins (2-6), Hill (1-10) and Peplow (1-7) as Datchet were all out for 69.

In reply Ewan Ballard (8) and Ollie Dawkins (26) set about their total with gusto. Jack Hill hit a quickfire 19 to see Hurley to their target inside seven overs.
