TO celebrate Kidmore End’s 150th anniversary celebrations the club will entertain a Thames Valley League Representative XI at Gallowstree

TO celebrate Kidmore End’s 150th anniversary celebrations the club will entertain a Thames Valley League Representative XI at Gallowstree Common on Thursday (1pm).

The first match ever to take place at Kidmore End was held on August 31, 1863 when Emmer Green was defeated by 10 wickets.

In a two innings a side match, Emmer Green made 30 and 17. Kidmore End replied with 47 and 2-0. Other opponents in the 1860s included Caversham, Highmoor and Sonning.
