Saeed leaves Moreton in a spin

FAHAD SAEED claimed five wickets to wrap up a 63-run win for WOODCOTE over MORETON on Sunday.

FAHAD SAEED claimed five wickets to wrap up a 63-run win for WOODCOTE over MORETON on Sunday.

Batting first, Woodcote got off to a flying start thanks to good batting and running by Simon Fuller.

Jonny Clark continued his good Sunday batting form, with useful contributions from Dave Ravenhill, Chris Batey and Ed Ravenhill, but the highlight was a whirlwind 42 not out off 10 balls from Paul Knox coming in at number 11.

Moreton’s openers began brightly but fell to the opening attack of Stroker and Knox. After Ashton became the first of Saeed’s victims — and the first of Stroker’s three catches — Macdonald and Howard looked as if they might put Moreton in with a chance of chasing down the total, but both fell to Saeed’s spin, and little resistance was offered by the remaining batsmen.
