Thornton bludgeons ton for Turville

OLLIE THORNTON hit an unbeaten century to help TURVILLE PARK run out winners at WEST WYCOMBE.

OLLIE THORNTON hit an unbeaten century to help TURVILLE PARK run out winners at WEST WYCOMBE.

The pace of Turville’s Sandy Flakelar caused problems early on for the home batsmen with some big movement and hostile bounce. The West Wycombe top three weathered the storm and eventually dominated D Jones in particular smashing anything loose with a fine 62.

Once Mike Kiernan had removed Jones and Rowley and the Turville legspinner, Jack Rogers, was introduced, runs became more difficult to come by for the hosts. Rogers took three wickets in nine overs for only 12 runs.

Charlie Henry picked up two wickets at the end to leave West Wycombe on 165-8 at tea.

Turville started well against some challenging bowling as Chris Rogers and then Jack Rogers both played well to keep the score ticking over while keeping out the unplayable.

Thornton was ruthless on anything loose as he hit six sixes and 11 fours to help Turville Park triumph.

TURVILLE PARK came away from DORCHESTER with a six wicket victory with more than 10 overs to spare.

Nick and Charles Henry started solidly against circumspect early Dorchester batting. As the wicket slowed McComb anchored the Dorchester innings with 87 before he was bowled by Sam Halfhead.

A rally in the last 30 minutes saw Dorchester end on 206-8 at tea.

In reply Rob Dickie was out first ball to Belcher. Thornton started where he left off the previous day and put on 60 before being bowled by Belcher.

Once Belcher had bowled his 10 overs, the Dorchester bowling was limited and it was left to Halfhead and Jon Hancock to see Turville home with plenty of overs to spare.
