Breakspear’s knock to no avail for hosts

WEST LONDON touring side STROKEMAKERS visited CHECKENDON for the first time on Sunday and won a friendly 40 over match.

WEST LONDON touring side STROKEMAKERS visited CHECKENDON for the first time on Sunday and won a friendly 40 over match.

The visitors were dismissed for 198 in 35.2 overs with Sameer top scoring with 56.

Checkendon used eight bowlers of whom medium pacer Ray Williams was the pick and benefited from three well taken outfield catches by Nick Playford.

The home side suffered a poor start to their reply, losing four early wickets before Ian Breakspear steadied the ship with a well paced 66.

The Strokemakers’ varied bowling attack prompted a further collapse which ended with Checkendon being bowled out for 137 in 29.2 overs.
