Turville Park triumph in rain

TURVILLE PARK ran out winners at home to MEDMENHAM in a rain-affected match.

TURVILLE PARK ran out winners at home to MEDMENHAM in a rain-affected match.

At one stage the rain was driving across the ground in swathes but Medmenham, who were fielding at that stage, carried on regardless.

A fine innings by Sam Beardall (63) set up Turville’s score of 133 in the first innings of what had been reduced to a 20 overs a side match. He was ably supported by Tom White.

Bagwell was the pick of the Medmenham bowlers and their keeper kept well in the circumstances. The pitch was so slippery that there were several stumpings as it was difficult for the batsmen to recover their ground.

Medmenham’s innings lacked urgency as Rafe Dickie took his first wicket and has a promising future.

Despite the wet conditions Turville took five catches with captain Beardall and Toby Greenwood taking two each.

Nick Henry was the pick of the bowlers with 2-14 off four overs.

Medmenham’s batting revolved around Enderby who scored 37 run out. He played a solid innings but was unable to keep up with the required run rate as the visitors closed on 108—8.
