Butler and Rooke guide side to victory

GREYS GREEN ran out eight-wicket winners at home to TURVILLE PARK on Saturday.

GREYS GREEN ran out eight-wicket winners at home to TURVILLE PARK on Saturday.

Inserted by the hosts, Turville Park looked as if they would make the home side regret that decision, being 85-1 after the first hour and 114 before the second wicket fell.

S Beardall hit 78 for the visitors and was supported by Wade but when both were dismissed by Shafqat, the tempo of the game changed, with singles where once there were boundaries being scored.

A good catch from Hoggart accounted for Moberly but, with the fourth wicket falling at 159, Turville were still on target for a substantial score before Shafqat and Rooke took the last five wickets in a hurry and Turville ended on 176, with Shafqat claiming 5-57. Turville claimed an early wicket but Butler and Holroyd advanced the score quickly before N Henry took his second wicket.

Greys Green continued to find the boundary with Rooke taking a heavy toll of each bowler and the third-wicket pair remained undefeated as Greys reached their target.
