HENLEY provide half of the 12-strong squad Berkshire have named for theirÂ annual limited-overs Marlborough Cup challenge match against Wiltshire at North Maidenhead CC’s Summerleaze Park ground on Sunday (11am).
They are batsmen Michael Roberts and David Barnes, spinner Euan Brock, wicket-keeper Stewart Davison, spinner Gurveer Singh and paceman Tom Nugent.
Former Henley player,Â Steve Naylor, who is now with Datchet, is also included, along withÂ â??Slough batsman Waqas Hussain and Ealing’s experienced spinner Chris Peploe, who has rejoined the county after an absence of three years.
â??Berkshire skipper James Morris said: “We’re all very much looking forward to the game and feel as though we have a wellâ??-balanced tâ??eam with more of a blend of youth and experience than last year. The boys are prepared and ready to start on a winning note.”
â??â??Wiltshire are the Marlborough Cup holders, having beaten Berkshire by 58 runs at South Wilts CC a year ago.
The home side scored Â 257-7 in their 50 overs with Michael Coles hitting an unbeaten 70 off 54 balls and Henry Langford 61. Berkshire were all out for 199 despite the best efforts of Richard Morris, who made 54, Shelvin Gumbs 45 not out and David Barnes with 40.
Wiltshire include Henley bowler Tahir Afridi in their squad. â??Admission to the game is free and bar facilities â??will be available throughout the day.
