Ahmed is star man as Greys hold on

THE match between GREYS GREEN and READING UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC STAFF featured some excellent fast bowling from both sides.

Although it ended in a draw, it was a tight, interesting contest to the last.

Only a handful of batsmen made useful contributions, one of those being Singh, who made 62. RUAS looked as if they might make a formidable score but once Zia was dismissed for a 45, Greys re–gained some control, with the return of Ahmed, who finished with 6–46, and RUAS were all out for 158.

Evans played well for his 22 for RUAC but Shafqat was run out from his first ball.

Skilleter batted with determination, and it looked like Greys might overhaul their target. But when he was bowled by Zia for 46, Greys found it difficult in the fading light against such good bowling and it was left to Ahmed and Cusden to thwart RUAS hopes of victory.
