HENLEY entertain Harefield at the Brakspear Ground tomorrow (Saturday, 11.30am) where they will be aiming to maintain their winning start to the season.
The reigning champions have injury concerns over Brock, Davison and Carter, and also have Allaway unavailable.
Last season Harefield avoided the drop by winning at Banbury in the last match of the season whilst Aston Rowant lost at Tring. They had been in Division 2 for the previous four seasons.
Against Henley last season, Henley won at home by 78 runs and won at Harefield by 145 runs.
Harefield currently stand eighth in the league having only won away at Horspath, being bowled out for 191 before dismissing Horspath for 175, including 54 extras which they gifted to the home side.
Tomorrow’s visitors have lost away to Banbury, at home to Slough and, last week, at home to Tring, where they scored 214 but took only three wickets in Tring’s reply. Unfortunately for them, they no longer have Zimbabwean star Chamunorwa Chibhabha who last season came third in the league’s batting averages and eighth in the bowling averages. Tafadzwa Muzarawetu is now their overseas player.
Two bowlers remaining from last season are Douglas King, who took 21 wickets at 20 and has eight this season including a five against Slough, and Dhavaikumar Norotam, who took 15 wickets at 27.
Harefield are captained by opener Simon Macey, who last season hit 362 runs at an average of 28.
