Shiplake College sides put opponents to sword

SHIPLAKE COLLEGE 1sts recorded their second successive win as they defeated READING SCHOOL.

Electing to field first, the Shiplake College bowlers exerted good pressure on the Reading batsmen, conceding only three runs in the first four overs.

With only 73 required to win, Will Gresswell and Ben Arnold steered Shiplake to victory with seven wickets in hand and six overs to spare.

Shiplake elected to bat first with Zac Kennedy (55) and Sebastian Hjortland Marks putting on 85 runs for the third wicket.

Sharp catching and tight bowling ensured that Shiplake strangled any run scoring opportunities, and by the end of the game, Our Lady’s Abingdon School were 37-8 off their allotted 20 overs. SHIPLAKE COLLEGE U13Bs eased to a comfortable win against OUR LADY’S ABINGDON SCHOOL. Good bowling from Kai O’Hare, Harry Watts, Barney Rivetts, Stanley Ingram and Joe Rayner helped to skittle out Our Lady’s Abingdon School for just 62 runs.
