SAM Boughton scored 112 not out as PEPPARD STOKE ROW KITES had the better of a draw against BBC CAVERSHAM on Sunday.

Opener Jake Leach also chipped in with 50 as a youthful Kites side — including four U15s — hit 225-7 off 41 overs.

In reply, Tom Woodward caused some early problems alongside U15 Josh Smith.

Another youngster, Ben West then grabbed a wicket before Rob Dyer grabbed one of his own â?? smartly held by Boughton â?? to leave the hosts 50-4.

Gary Legg dimissed Richard Salmon â?? 32 years after the last time the bowler had played at the ground â?? but BBC continued to grind away.

Captain Richard Ashton bowled some brisk medium pace and varied his pace to good effect in claiming a double wicket maiden which opened the game up, but despite using 10 bowlers, the Kites were unable to seal the victory and Caversham closed on 177-7.
