PEPPARD STOKE ROW KITES slipped to a second defeat of the season as they were beaten by seven wickets at home to the FLEET STREET STROLLERS on Sunday.
The hosts were asked to bat following morning rain and were in disarray at 44-7.
Captain Richard Ashton hit three of his first seven balls for sixes during a brief counter-attack before nicking off, and it was left to youngster Dan Bacon and Ruaridh Scott to take the Kites to the relative respectability of 108 all out.
George Lee made an early breakthrough for the Kites, but despite further wickets from Scott and Max Baker-Smith â?? bowling with outstanding pace â?? the Strollers cruised home in the 21st over.
