Warren in fine form for hosts

TRADITIONAL friendly visitors REFRESHERS lost out at CHECKENDON on Sunday despite putting on 224-6 off their allotted 45

TRADITIONAL friendly visitors REFRESHERS lost out at CHECKENDON on Sunday despite putting on 224-6 off their allotted 45 overs.

Skelton’s bit-hitting for the visitors was matched by the quick bowling of newcomer Alex Kukstas who took 3-15 in nine overs.

Home skipper Jim Warren led from the front, hitting a half century after an uncertain start to the Checkendon reply.

His partnership from John Westcar was followed by a match winning stand between youngster Alex Kukstas and Sam Arrowsmith.

Arrowsmith went on to make 26 while Kukstas remained unbeaten on 48 as the home side reached their target with three wickets in hand and four overs to spare.
