OLLIE CARRIER hit an impressive 159 runs in a record 35-overs score for CHECKENDON against a depleted visiting WELFORD PARK side on Sunday.

The hosts put on 335-5 with Carrier’s innings including four sixes and 21 fours. Opener Manpreet Singh reached 65 in a partnership with Carrier of 177 for the second wicket.

Left arm seamer Clive Kent took three early Welford Park wickets while batsman Will Herrington fell for the second week running to spinner Harry Wickens.

Ian Herrington provided impossible to dislodge, however, reaching 72 not out as the visitors made 147-7 in their allotted overs giving Checkendon victory by 188 runs.
