HARPSDEN put in another dominant home display as they eased to a 230—run victory against LITTLE MARLOW on Saturday to take maximum points and extend their lead at the top of Division 3.
After winning the toss and bowling first, the visitors saw early success as Watson flashed at a ball outside the off stump, only to edge behind off the bowling of St—Maus.
Harpsden lost another two wickets in quick succession as Hancock and Whittaker made starts but failed to go on.
After Stevens came to the crease to join the already impressive Bryan, the game started to slip away from Little Marlow.
Stevens and Bryan took the Harpsden score from 78—3 in the 12th over to 243—4 in the 33rd.
Bryan was the aggressor of the partnership, passing his 100 with the team score on 160 and was eventually out for 144.
Stevens batted well in a supporting role for his 72 not out and after Bryan departed, T Hancock (37 not out) joined Stevens to pile the misery on to the Little Marlow fielders.
Harpsden were able to declare on 310—4 after just 41 overs, leaving them 59 to bowl the visitors out.
In reply Thistlewade hit his second and third balls for four before Birkett enticed him into a poor shot to hole out at square leg.
Paice bowled well at the other end creating pressure which undid Maine for 4 and Shore for 1.
When Birkett accounted for the other opener — also caught square leg — Little Marlow were in deep trouble.
Potter and Holmes stuck in well making 27 and 28 a piece but were both undone within two balls of each other after the new ball was taken.
Holmes was bowled leaving a good ball from T Hancock and Potter was caught by B Hancock off the bowling of Wright.
Howerth was brought into the attack and took two quick wickets, with Hancock picking up another thanks to a catch from Bradley to win the match as the visitors only had 10 players.
