Hosts Woodcote earn derby bragging rights

WOODCOTE defeated their local rivals CHECKENDON by seven wickets on Sunday.

WOODCOTE defeated their local rivals CHECKENDON by seven wickets on Sunday.

Putting the visitors in to bat proved a good decision as opening bowlers Stroker and Jose, who only conceded 14 runs off his seven overs, soon had them struggling at 15-2.

Anwar remained undefeated on 68 but tight spin bowling from Ben Danks and Jon Aldridge and an impressive display of keeping from Burgess ensured the final total was reachable.

A solid start of 59 from Fuller and Anderson gave the following batsmen a sound base and aggressive shots from all-rounders Bell and Stroker saw Woodcote home with more than five overs to spare.
