Pearson shines with bat and ball

WOODCOTE captain Mark Pearson excelled with bat and ball to turn a losing position into a win for his team

WOODCOTE captain Mark Pearson excelled with bat and ball to turn a losing position into a win for his team against visitors LONDON UTOPERS on Sunday.

London Utopers put the home side in to bat but could not stop the opening pair of Roberts and Anderson putting on 84 in 13 overs.

Wickets then fell regularly until Pearson, with good support from Bell and Stroker saw his team through to a respectable 212-9.

Utopers’ openers’ partnership of more than 100 looked as if an easy win was on the cards until Pearson once again intervened by breaking the partnership and going on to take his first ever five-wicket haul for Woodcote in an impressive spell of hostile bowling. He was backed up by spinners Danks, Jose and Stroker who ensured that the Woodcote total remained out of reach.
