HURLEY U13s ran out Division 2 champions after defeating FALKLAND U13s by eight wickets in a winner-takes-all clash.
Going into the game both sides boasted undefeated records.
Having won the toss and inserted Falkland on the wide expanses of Slough Cricket Club pitch, Hurley soon got into their stride with a flurry of wickets.
Ollie Dawkins (2-12) mixed control, guile and pace to make early inroads while spin twins Blake Dyson (3-13) and Alec Bussell (2-18) chipped in with five wickets between them. Will Freer took a wicket with a double bouncer while Bussell took two wickets, one smartly snaffled by chief glove man Louis Skelton.
Ably supported by excellent fielding, accounting for two run outs, Falkland were restricted to 89-9.
In response, Ollie Dawkins and Jude Green were in fine form. Dawkins hit 31 not out off his 28 ball innings. Once Dawkins had retired unbeaten Jack Hill (15 not out) entered the fray and continued the dominance. Once Green (17) had departed, Bussell added a quickfire 9 but fell to a catch at mid-on just as Hurley had one hand on the trophy.
In was left to Calliss and Hill to secure the winning runs with four overs remaining.
