SUNDAY captain Manpreet Singh set a new record for the highest score for a CHECKENDON player despite the home friendly against WHITCHURCH being limited to 35 overs per side.

Singh’s undefeated 186 included six sixes and 20 fours as the home side raced to 264-3. Half centuries from Matt Kilford and John Steward enabled Whitchurch to put up a good response after the first three wickets had fallen to another fine spell of medium pace from youngster Adi Tripathi.

The game ended in the rain with a convincing victory for the home side.
