TURVILLE PARK eased to a comfortable victory at home to WEST WYCOMBE at Turville Heath on Saturday.
Winning the toss, skipper Sam Beardall had little hesitation in electing to bat first for the hosts. West Wycombe made a bright start removing both openers before the scoreboard had registered 15 runs. This included the wicket of James Hunt, caught at square leg, by son Charlie Hunt, who was guesting for the visitors.
West Wycombe reeled down 44 overs, which gave Turville time to recover and post an imposing 244-5. This included a century from Tim Wade and solid contributions from Sam Beardall and newcomer Dom Markham. In reply West Wycombe could find no answer to a rampaging attack led by James Thornton (3-17 off 11 overs), Dom Markham (3-7 off four overs) and Charlie Beardall (3-3 off four overs) as they were dismissed for just 40 runs.
