THE Christmas tree in Henley’s town square proved to be the perfect backdrop for a festive marriage proposal. Jim Pople popped the question to Hannah Richards under the 29ft Nordmann fir. Miss Richards, who is general manager of the Three Tuns pub in Market Place, said: “We really are over the moon and it was such a special moment.” The couple have been offered a piece of the tree when it comes down as a memento.
