Councillor wanting to be calendar girl

ALTHOUGH the acts in the Henley Living Advent Calendar are meant to be kept secret until they appear, I can reveal that town councillors could perform this year.

Councillor Kellie Hinton told a meeting of the Christmas events and decorations sub-committee that she and her colleagues could be the star attraction one night.

She said: “I would like to see a night with the council, similar to what the firemen do when they create a story. One year they had Santa stuck on the roof.”

Cllr Hinton suggested staging a mock council meeting where members discussed whether Santa needed to have permission to fly over Henley.

“All of people, I think the councillors — most of them, if not all — would be up for having some fun,” she said. “We have all got personalities.”

Who appears for calendar is down to solicitor Richard Rodway, who chairs the trustees. Over to you, Richard.
