Soggy month

THERE were just three days in February when no rain fell in Shiplake.

Denis Gilbert, who runs a weather station in the village, says he recorded a total of 122mm.

Temperatures ranged between -2C and 13C and the mean was above average for the month.

Meanwhile, Stephen Verge, from Middle Assendon, says that this winter has been the wettest in the Assendon Valley for at least 150 years.

According to his rainfall records, February was the wettest since 1951 with 130.9mm of rain.
