GLADSTONE Terrace in Henley looks like one of those pretty picture postcards.
That’s because every homeowner takes great care to maintain the front of the cottages off Reading Road.
But town councillor Sam Evans, who is one of the residents, says the colours of the front doors were not as straightforward a choice as it may appear.
Speaking to colleagues on the council’s planning committee, she said: “I live at Lavender Cottage but I can’t have a lavender-coloured door because my neighbour at Myrtle Cottage has an almost identical colour.”
Councillor David Clenshaw remarked: “How very Henley”. Councillor Lorraine Hillier added: “I like the different colours — it’s like being at the beach.”
