Big names and brains

AN illustrious team won the inaugural Henley Literary Festival quiz at weekend, edging the Bell Bookshop into second place.

Film director Paul Greengrass, who will be interviewing Doreen Lawrence at the festival, was joined on the victorious team by novelists Robert Harris and James Scudamore, actor Simon Williams, who will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the festival, and Jeremy Paxman’s partner Elizabeth Clough.

The quizmaster at a packed Henley Brew House was The Hive author Gill Hornby.

The winning team were awarded six bottles of wine from festival sponsor Laithewaites.
