THE flooding nearly led to the closure of Wargrave Road last week.
This meant the public footpath running parallel to the road that is reserved for such extreme conditions could surely be used by the public.
The path sign is near Marsh Mills, which are now apartments, and is almost hidden among the laurel trees.
The curious underground commercial premises next to the sign were once part of Hunter Penrose, a printing equipment company which supplied and repaired equipment used to produce this newspaper many years ago. They’re now used for data storage.
Has any reader been using this rarely available footpath and would like to let me know about it?
