DESPITE being a self-confessed technophobe, Henley town clerk Mike Kennedy has decided to join Twitter.
Mike, who once said “all I know about tweeting is that it’s a sound that a bird makes” was persuaded to sign up to the social media website by town and county councillor David Nimmo Smith and says he is rather enjoying it.
He has been getting to grips with the technology and hopes that his Twitter account will become another point of contact for residents who want to find things out about Henley and he is using it to keep people up to date with the latest town council agendas.
However, his followers will also be able to gain an insight into his personal life. Mike, who enjoys yoga and pub quizzes, has tweeted about an Eagles tribute act that he enjoyed going to see and he is already following his beloved football team Watford FC (@watford fcsays), Henley town manager Peter McConnell (@HenleyTCM) and, of course, the Henley Standard (@HenleyStandard), so he can keep up with all the local news.
As an enthusiastic dancer, Mike is also considering following Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Flavia Cacace.
