OUR MP John Howell was the first to congratulate Henley on being voted twelfth in The Times’ “30 best place to live in the countryside”.
The newspaper’s description of the town mentioned the River Thames, the Chilterns and the surrounding “picturesque” villages.
However, the description of who lives here was a bit one-sided, according to Mr Howell.
“It mentions bankers, expats and media-types,” he says. “What it doesn’t say is that the town is home to a vast range of people all of whom add significantly to the colour of the town.”
While I might be considered a “media-type”, I think he’s right.
