THE co-founder of the Henley Regatta for the Disabled is preparing for a very special day on Tuesday.
Jane Holmes, who started the annual event with Lucy Walton in 2009, will welcome the Earl and Countess of Wessex to the opening of “Our House” in Wokingham, a £110,000 community hub for disabled children and their parents.
Mrs Holmes, 44, from Ruscombe, whose daughter Kitty, 12, has cerebral palsy, raised the money through her charity Building for the Future.
The fundraising work meant she had to step down from the regatta in 2012 but I am sure the rest of the team will be happy to see her success with her other project rewarded with a royal visit. Remember to curtsey, Jane!
