WATLINGTON’S parish councillors should perhaps choose their words more carefully.
A Henley Standard reporter’s attention was piqued when councillors Bob West and Tim Horton told colleagues they were to hold a “cottaging meeting”.
They said the issue shouldn’t be minuted and Councillor Horton swiftly pointed out that our man was present.
For the innocent, “cottaging” is a term used to describe the practice of men meeting in public toilets to have sex.
Our reporter called Cllr Horton the next day and asked if cottaging was a problem in the town.
