A big cat could be on the prowl in Checkendon.
The creature, described as “three or four times bigger” than a normal cat, ran out in front of Bradley Stewart’s car at about 7pm on Wednesday last week in Main Street.
Mr Stewart, 21, who lives in Woodcote, was on his way home after visiting friends when he spotted the creature.
He believes it could have been a lynx, a species of wild cat with short tails native to North America, northern Europe and Asia.
Mr Stewart, whose mother Amanda runs Waggy Walkers dog kennels in Beech Lane, said: “It was a very big, long-haired cat around the size of an Irish terrier.
