POOR Matt Hampton, the captain of Hurley Cricket Club, hit a huge six but shattered his car’s windscreen in the process.
He was on his way to 29 in his side’s friendly defeat to Fiddlers on Sunday when he launched a ball over the pavilion for a maximum.
“I hit the ball well,” he said. “It was a good, clean connection but if I had hit the same shot 100 times I would not get the same angle.”
The drama didn’t stop there for Matt as he needed his BMW repaired ready for his family holiday to France at 4am the next morning.
