TWO of the key people behind the Live Aid concerts in 1985 will be reunited at the Rewind Festival in Henley this weekend.
Sir Bob Geldof will be performing with his old band the Boomtown Rats while backstage will be Pete Smith, the Henley man credited with making the concerts happen.
Pete tells his story in a new book, Just The Ticket, which will be published in the autumn and has a foreward by Sir Bob.
Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Band Aid Trust, which continues to work with organisations such as UNESCO to tackle humanitarian issues in Africa.
Pete, who lives in St Mark’s Road, says: “As a Henley boy, I am taking advantage of the opportunity to go to Rewind and have Bob Geldof support my request for as many of the Eighties artists as possible to sign a handful of books.
