Rowers say ‘no’

I NOTICED that among the 200 famous names who signed a letter urging Scots to vote “no” in next month’s independence referendum were Henley Royal Regatta vice- chairman Sir Steve Redgrave and Leander Club’s double Olympic champion Pete Reed.

They were among a number of Olympic gold medallists contacted by the campaign organisers, TV presenter Dan Snow and historian Tom Holland.

Snow himself was a decent rower and represented Oxford University in the Boat Race three times.

He has also spoken at Leander Club, so probably had little trouble signing up the rowers.
