HENLEY Dragons will go into the final race of the season with a five point lead
HENLEY Dragons will go into the final race of the season with a five point lead in the national league’s standard division.
Last Sunday saw 23 teams compete on the River Trent beside County Hall Nottingham for round seven of the BDA National League.
The day started with the 200m event, each crew competing in three heats, their aggregate times determining which final each crew would contest.
Henley Dragons qualified for the major final and finished the morning’s racing in third place overall.
The afternoon event comprised a time trial over 2,000m. Henley Dragons finished second behind Amathus and ahead of Typhoon and Wraysbury.
The combined results meant that Henley finished the day in third place overall behind leaders Amathus and Typhoon and top of the standard division for the seventh time this season.
St Neots finished 10th overall but were second in the standard division so lost only one point to Henley in the race to be division champions. Henley will start the final race of the league season with a five point lead.
