Our scholarships and exhibitions aim to celebrate exceptional talent

EACH year, Shiplake College offers a number of scholarships and exhibitions to reward and celebrate exceptional talent.

Scholarships are offered to pupils demonstrating outstanding academic ability or excellence in a major co-curricular domain, including art, drama, music and sport. Generally, scholarships are available for pupils applying for the major entry points (years seven, nine and 12).

In recognition of their achievements scholars are offered an award of up to 10 per cent reduction in fees.

Parents of scholars who anticipate that they will experience difficulty in meeting the balance of the tuition fees are encouraged to simultaneously apply for a means-tested bursary after registering their child; a scholarship can be supplemented further by financial assistance. Scholars work closely with the Master of Scholars and their respective Head of Department, participating in individually-tailored programmes to support, stretch and challenge them and to provide them with additional opportunities and responsibilities.

The admissions assessments for year nine entry in September 2020 take place in September 2019, with the scholarship assessments taking place the following term.

The deadline for registering your son is Friday, July 12. Please go to www.shiplake.org.uk/registration to make an application.

Assessments for entry to year nine in September 2021 take place in October 2019, when candidates are in year seven. The deadline for registration is Monday, September 2, 2019. If you would like to discuss an application into year nine, make an appointment to visit or have any questions regarding the scholarship process, please contact the admissions team on 0118 940 2455 or email registrar@shiplake.org.uk
