College that has tradition of excellence and future of possibility

SET in more than 230 acres of Berkshire’s stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pangbourne College is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18.

With nearly 30 years of co-educational experience, Pangbourne provides a nurturing environment where academic excellence and personal growth go hand in hand.

There are four pillars that develop and sustain a Pangbourne education: academic rigour, exploration, community and leadership. These four components ensure all our students develop the attitudes, skills and behaviours that underpin success at school and in life. We empower each individual to fulfil their potential and develop the confidence, values and skills to make a positive difference to the world.

Rowing is at the heart of Pangbourne’s culture — a sport that fosters discipline, teamwork and perseverance. The Rowing Club’s location along a peaceful four-mile stretch of the River Thames provides an unrivalled setting for training and competition. Pangbourne is proud to be one of the most successful school rowing programmes in the UK, with four Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup victories at Henley Royal Regatta and alumni representing Great Britain on the world stage, including the current double Para world champion. Strengthening this proud tradition, Pangbourne College is delighted to welcome two elite coaches to its rowing performance programme. Olympic gold medallist Harry Brightmore is the assistant director of rowing, while Ed Green — renowned for developing junior internationals and championship-winning crews — will be taking on the role of director of rowing from September 2025. Both bring a passion for nurturing young athletes on and off the water. Pangbourne College is where tradition meets ambition. Come and visit us to discover a school that shapes character, inspires success, and unlocks opportunity for every student.

Our next open morning is on Saturday, October 4. For further details visit www.pangbourne.com
