HEMDEAN House offers affordable independent education within a friendly and supportive working environment.
We have class sizes of approximately 16 boys and girls in the junior school and 12 girls in the senior school.
At Hemdean House, great emphasis is placed on pastoral care: we seek to identify, nurture and celebrate each child’s gifts and talents. We develop an active partnership with parents, recognising that only with a full understanding of their child’s personality and enthusiasm will we be able to make their learning a true adventure.
We get to know every individual member of the school community and our boys and girls know they have an important contribution to make. Their confidence grows with the support and nurturing from dedicated and experienced teaching staff.
Many pupils achieve level five or six in English and maths at the end of year six and gain places in their first choice of senior school, including successful admissions to Kendrick and Reading schools.
Our GCSE results continue to be excellent. This year 86 per cent of all GCSE entries were grades A* to C and 71 per cent of students achieved more than five GCSEs grades A* to C, including English and maths. All students achieved the required grades to study at their first choice sixth forms.
Pupils leave Hemdean House as confident, respectful and self-motivated students â?? ready for the next stage of their education.
