A SCHOOL in Henley has won the Oxfordshire cross-country championships for primary schools for the eighth year running.
More than 600 runners from 26 schools took part in the event, which was held at Chiltern Edge School in Sonning Common.
Trinity School in Vicarage Road won with an overall score of 147 points. The school’s year 1 boys came third in their races, while the year 4 boys came second and the year 6 girls won first place overall. The combined total put the school ahead of Wantage and Long Furlong by a margin of 25 points.
Jo Lock, sports co-ordinator at Trinity, said: “Winning this competition for the eighth time isn’t just luck. We have some very talented but mostly very committed and determined competitors of whom we are enormously proud.”
