GORING Primary School has been granted retrospective permission for a fence on land owned by the parish council.
The school put up the wire barrier at its rear boundary with the Bourdillon Field play area, which belongs to the council, last year.
It said the fence was necessary as intruders had previously got into the school by climbing over the hedge.
The council ruled the fence could stay but it reserved the right to withdraw permission at any time.
Chairman Alan Strong said it was “disappointing” that the school had not sought consent first.
