PUPILS at Watlington Primary School took part in a “wellie day” for charity.
They were trying to raise £360 for the two children which the school sponsors, Ndayishimiye, who lives in Rwanda, and Atiiga, from Ghana.
Activities included a wellie parade, making jelly in wellie boots, wellie-wanging and colouring in a wellie-shaped picture.
Headteacher Andrew Markham said: “We are a large school but still have a village feel.
“We have lots of grassy areas and we want boots to be like part of the school uniform so we have these special days and events and hopefully the children will then leave their boots here.”
