OUR well appointed nursery at St Mary’s, Henley is a warm, secure environment where dedicated staff care for children acknowledging them all as individuals.
Independent from the main school building yet close enough for our children to access all the main school facilities, it is complete with our own “outdoor classroom” space in which we are able to offer the children free flow and a broad choice of activities.
Excellent staffing levels with activities differentiated to the individual needs of the children ensure a secure start to the learning journey that carries children forward into our school.
The early years curriculum is delivered with emphasis on planning based around the children’s interests. Music and French are taught separately by qualified teaching staff from within the school and all nursery children take part in the musical productions.
Trips are also planned to further enhance teaching and add to the enjoyment of the nursery experience.
A home-cooked lunch is provided with both a morning and afternoon nursery session and children are encouraged to take part in snack preparations.
Through our attitudes, small groups and the learning experiences provided, we strive to move the children towards independence.
Entry into nursery begins in the term in which the children turn three.
To book a personal tour of the school, please contact the school office to arrange a convenient date.
