Ethos empowers confident learners

THE Abbey School is a vibrant and welcoming community of almost 1,100 girls aged three to 18. Unrivalled academic excellence is achieved in a warm and supportive pastoral environment and an exceptional extracurricular programme enables girls to develop their interests and talents. A balanced approach to life and learning ensures that they go on to lead successful, fulfilling lives.

The Abbey is consistently one of the country’s top-performing schools. This year 52 per cent of GCSE papers received an A* grade (85 per cent A*/A). At A level 95 per cent of papers were graded A* to B, while the International Baccalaureate Diploma average score of 39 points confirms the school’s world-class delivery of the IB programme. Girls gained places on a wide variety of courses at universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Birmingham thanks to their own hard work and the invaluable advice and support provided by the highly experienced sixth form leadership team.

The school’s ethos is centred on empowering girls to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners, and balanced, happy individuals. Outside the classroom extracurricular opportunities play an important part in the school community, with music, drama, art and sport plus a myriad of specialist clubs contributing to a happy, energetic atmosphere that is highly valued by the girls.

Autumn open events offer an excellent opportunity to experience the Abbey atmosphere. Visit www.theabbey.co.uk for full details.
