THE Oratory School is an all boys’ independent Catholic boarding and day school for boys aged 11 to 18.

Oratory boys are encouraged to engage with purpose in all levels of school life.

They are asked to achieve their academic goals as well as to develop personal growth by taking part in the many activities on offer in the school.

The school had undergone a 10-year regeneration programme, consisting of new boarding and day houses and an extensive, award-winning art and design department with its own exhibition gallery and professional artist in residence.

There are also new English, maths, history and theology departments, plus a gym and fitness centre.

A grand multi-million pound development of the sports centre is currenlty underway, from which the 2014 entry will benefit.

A recently opened theatre provides drama studios, retractable seating and a professional lighting and sound room.

This September the school had the honour of receiving another national award. Headmaster, Clive Dytor, was awarded Public School Head of the Year 2013 by the prestigious Tatler School Awards in a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London in recognition of the school’s achievements.

Through national research the school has also achieved the following accolades: * Sports School of the Year by Education Business Awards 2011

* Best art and design at A level (an award won consecutively for the last six years)

* Best results for art and design at GCSE in an English school (Good Schools Guide 2012)

* Top 20 independent boarding schools in the UK (Best Schools 2012)

* Top 30 boys’ independent senior schools in the UK (The Times 2008)

* Top independent school in the UK for sport (Daily Telegraph 2007).

To find out more about the school, visit them on the next open day for years 7 and 8 on Saturday, November 23 from 10am. Contact the headmaster’s PA on (01491) 683501 or email

The staff and boys look forward to welcoming you.
