THE Henley College is delighted to announce the appointment of its new principal Jayne Davis.

Jayne joins The Henley College from Havant Sixth Form College in Hampshire where she was deputy principal.

Having originally read Economics at the University of Wales, Jayne undertook her PGCE in economics and business studies. She has been head of the business departments of both Ormskirk Grammar School and Totton College and has worked in the sixth form college sector for almost 15 years. Her areas of expertise include quality improvement, improving teaching and learning, learner progress tracking, curriculum assessment and the use of digital technology.

Jayne said:“It is a real privilege to be selected to lead a college with such an excellent reputation. I am excited about joining the Henley community and helping the college to go from strength-to-strength in the coming years.”

Jasminder Love, chair of governors, said: “Jayne has an excellent track record in the education sector and her appointment was confidently ratified by the governing body.

“In Jayne, we have found someone with the experience, skills and ambition to drive our vision to be an outstanding sixth form college for all.”

Jayne will be the first permanent female principal in The Henley College’s 410-year history, succeeding Tom Espley who retired at the end of December after 10 years in the post.
