Blue Coat sixth form is dynamic... because it needs to be

THE sixth form at Reading Blue Coat School is dynamic — and it needs to be.

THE sixth form at Reading Blue Coat School is dynamic — and it needs to be.

Meeting the challenges of successful applications to top universities and the careers that blossom after graduation requires solid preparation in years 12 and 13.

We believe that what we provide in our sixth form is the ideal blend of student-centred learning, expert guidance and support.

We encourage our students to drive their learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom and to discover the exhilaration of unearthing and then moulding their own ideas.

To facilitate the development and honing of the skills necessary for life after Blue Coat, we have a careers syllabus that adapts to the interests of the individual and a pastoral support system that ensures that every young adult we encounter is understood to be unique and is encouraged to make a contribution.

The new Brian Walsh Building, a dedicated psychology and geology classroom and laboratory block, complements the school’s other impressive facilities, including the 23-classroom Richard Aldworth Building, an extensive sixth-form centre, an all-purpose sports hall, an indoor swimming pool, a purpose-built science centre and a cricket pavilion.
