Help stop coursers

POLICE are asking for the public’s help in cracking down on hare coursing.

They are not only concerned about the destruction of the animals but also the criminal damage to fencing and hedging and to land with the use of vehicles.

Officers says hare coursers tend to travel in groups, usually in 4x4 vehicles, and with dogs.

They may park by a field, gather in a field, or walking in a line abreast across it.

Police are asking the public to report any suspicious behaviour. Report what you have seen, the location of the incident and how many people were involved and give a good description of the people, vehicles and how many dogs were involved. Do not approach the offenders yourself.
